Face Detection 3.0 – from any angle
The FinePix F60fd is equipped with Face Detection 3.0 technology, which goes one step further by recognising faces at more extreme angles.
As with the original version of Face Detection, it can detect up to 10 faces in a scene in as little as 0.036 seconds, automatically correcting focus, exposure, and white balance, regardless of where subjects are located within the frame. Face Detection 3.0 can register faces with up to 90 degree movement in either direction for profiles, and with rotations of up to 360 degrees.

Once your image has been captured, the system instantly corrects red-eye and then saves both the original and the corrected image file automatically.
The FinePix F60fd red eye removal system is not confused by lips or red coloured jewellery, as some other systems can be, as it works in tandem with Fujifilm's Face Detection system to identify eyes and nothing else. Letting the camera do this retouching is so much quicker and easier than struggling at home with a paintbrush on a PC!

In a first for Fujifilm cameras, the FinePix F60fd is equipped with Scene Recognition technology which cleverly detects a scene without the need of pre-selecting the mode on the camera. SR AUTO recognises Night, Landscape. Portrait and Macro scenes.
Simply select SR AUTO and the camera automatically sets the appropriate shutter speed, exposure and white balance to ensure that you get the most of your photography; more stunning pictures with less hassle.

For those occasions when flash is required, Fujifilm's Intelligent Flash system sets the power output to achieve natural foreground illumination with balanced background exposure.
Avoiding both the messy background blur of 'slow-sync' flash, and the stark contrast of conventional flash, Intelligent Flash results in visibly more pleasing, natural looking photos.
For times when a decision about lighting could mean a missed photo opportunity, the FinePix F60fd's Natural Light plus Flash mode takes two photos in quick succession, one with flash and one without, then displays them side-by-side for instant comparison.

‘A’and ‘S’ modes
For the more advanced user the FinePix F60fd also features Aperture and Shutter Priority modes for total creative control.
For those of you that are not familiar with these terms, ‘A’ Aperture-priority and ‘S’ Shutter-priority auto exposure modes let you explore your creativity. Selecting ‘A’ mode adds dimension to your photo by increasing or decreasing the depth of field, while ‘S’ mode allows you to maximise action shots by freezing motion or creating motion blur.

Continuous Shooting Mode
The F60fd allows you to shoot up to 12 frames in a burst* (at 5 frames per second), even if the subject is moving. This fantastic mode therefore gives you 5 times the chance of capturing that one special moment.

Movie Capture
When a still image isn't sufficient, the FinePix F60fd’s movie mode, at 30 frames per second, captures movie clips with sound that are limited in length only by the size of memory card used.

Playback Features, Zoom Up and Cropping
Thanks to Fujifilms proprietary Super CCD technology delivering a stunning 12 megapixel resolution, you are able to crop and enlarge any part of your captured image without experiencing any loss of quality.
Once you’ve captured your group portrait you can use the handy ‘Zoom Up’ feature, which allows you to detect faces in playback mode so that you can check them one by one and ensure that you have captured the image as you intended it.
If you spy a priceless expression amongst your group portrait that stands out from the crowd, then simply select the built in ‘Cropping’ function, which will allow you to automatically crop and save the selected portrait in the camera.
Micro Thumbnails
The 3-inch LCD screen allows you to view your images comfortably. It displays your pictures in a number of alternative ways and enables you to navigate up to 100 thumbnail images in a 10 x 10 array.
Further to this, a new sort by date system has been added so that you have even more control over how you store and sort your images.
